This was our virtual IdeaLab last week!
The topic was the legal and voluntary regulation and certification of artificial intelligence.
After a short scientific introduction by HUMAINE project leader Prof. Uta Wilkens, Dr. Robert Kilian from Certif.AI gave a hands-on overview of national and international legal requirements. Along with this, there were insights into Trustworthy AI and AI testing. To illustrate the state of tension with a specific example from industry, Christian Els from sentin described how an approach between innovation, quality and safety can be found in non-destructive materials testing. The main question that remained was how to actively contribute to the creation of meaningful AI regulation.
The international audience was able to discuss targeted technical issues with the two experts, debate current developments and network with inspiring new players.
So overall, we can mark the format as a full success and are already looking forward to the next IdeaLab – this time on site in Bochum!
