The HUMAINE project consortium had invited guests to a spring reception on 18 March at the O-Werk on Bochum’s technology and start-up campus, Mark 51°7, with the aim of establishing a process framework for human-centred work with artificial intelligence as part of a mini-exhibition. Numerous guests from industry, the healthcare sector, the start-up scene, politics and public administration accepted the invitation and acted as feedback partners and advocates. Together with additional volunteers who helped organise the event, 97 people were in attendance. The opportunity for face-to-face discussion enabled numerous follow-up activities to be agreed upon. As a result, HUMAINE’s range of methods is finding ever wider application. The exhibition tour followed the opening ceremony, which was conducted by Vice-Rector Prof. Dr Günther Meschke, who highlighted the significance of Mark 51°7. Dirk Hansmeier, Managing Director of the makerspace, provided an insight into the opportunities available there for students and practitioners. A video message from State Secretary Dr h.c. Thomas Sattelberger (BMBF) put the HUMAINE project into context, whilst the speakers from the Centre of Excellence, Prof. Dr Uta Wilkens and Prof. Dr Laurenz Wiskott, highlighted the specific conceptual and design approaches resulting from the project in which people can participate. On this day, the pictures spoke for themselves. Join us on a journey of discovery
