The Schmalenbach working group “Personal und Arbeit” met on March 1, 2024 at the invitation of Rhenus in Hilden and integrated the expertise from the economic side (Prof. Südekom, HHU Düsseldorf), from the Executive Board and HR Management of the Rhenus Group (Dr. Peters & Anne-Kathrin Gilles) and the HUMAINE Competence Center (Prof. Wilkens, RUB & Norbert Holzknecht, BfI). The HUMAINE team reported project results on the reliable use of AI as a challenge for work design and HR management. In addition, HR chairs from HHU Düsseldorf, the Bundeswehr University Munich and the University of Konstanz were also represented. In addition to Rhenus, HR managers from ERGO, Audi and Canon were also involved from the business side.

The HUMAINE Competence Center is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in the program “Future of Value Creation – Research on Production, Services and Work” and supervised by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA) (funding code: 02L19C200). The funding comprises approximately 8 million euros for an initial period of four years (04/2021-03/2025).
