On the 4th of September 2023 the AI Developer Work Group took place at the ZESS. We are thrilled with the response and the amount of participants we welcomed around the topic “Democratization of AI: Hardware and Algorithms”.
As always, two presentations were the centerpiece of the event:
Dr.-Ing. Dennis Michaelis of GEMESYS captures the pulse of the time: He passionately advocates human-centric, democratic AI development that keeps its sustainable goal in mind and does not exclusively favor large companies. AI must therefore always include the people who use it in the development process.
Dr. David Kappel from the Institute of Neuroinformatics at Ruhr-University Bochum granted us a look at the technical background of bio-inspired algorithms and made things visible that otherwise remain hidden from us.
