Another success story for the HUMAINE Toolbox: conclusion of the framework works agreement on AI at Eickhoff
The HUMAINE Toolbox is creating many small success stories—one of which was completed at Eickhoff in December 2025. After around twelve months of collaborative work, the works council and company management signed a framework works agreement on the use of artificial intelligence (AI framework agreement).
Drawing on the HUMAINE Toolbox, in particular the co-determination dialogues and the model collective agreement on AI, the need for operational and labour policy regulations was identified and gradually incorporated into the agreement. The RUB/IGM Joint Working Group closely monitored this process and supported the social partners in shaping a responsible and participatory introduction of AI into work processes.
On 19 January 2026, representatives from Eickhoff, the RUB/IGM Joint Working Group and the HUMAINE project gathered at the Eickhoffpark premises in Bochum to reflect on the collaborative process and celebrate its successful conclusion.
The insights gained through this collaboration will serve as a key component in finalising the model AI works agreement and the accompanying guidance document. At the same time, the signing of the framework works agreement does not mark the end of the process, but rather the start of the practical work: the implementation of the framework works agreement on AI will continue to be supported in the future.
