On 12 September 2025, a specialist dialogue on the topic of ‘AI in the world of work’ took place at the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of North Rhine-Westphalia (MAGS). At the invitation of State Secretary Mathias Heidmeier, experts from various fields discussed the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in the world of work in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Prof. Dr. Uta Wilkens from the HUMAINE Competence Centre also contributed to the discussion. She presented approaches for developing AI competence and designing human-centred, AI-based work systems in the fields of industry, medicine and care. Her remarks underscored the importance of well-thought-out AI integration in order to make optimal use of the technology while taking the needs of employees into account.
