This makes regular, proactive inspections essential. In particular, increasingly labour-intensive conventional methods are being supplemented by drone imagery. The project presented here is a collaboration between the Chair of Computer Science in Civil Engineering \u2013 Ruhr University Bochum, the Chair of Control Engineering and System Theory \u2013 Ruhr University Bochum, and the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Formal Methods, where AI-based approaches are being developed to enable autonomous bridge damage detection under conditions of uncertainty, particularly in areas that are difficult to access and lack GPS reception. About the speaker:<\/p>\n<p>Dr Marcel Neuhausen is a member of the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Formal Methods (Prof. Dr Nils Jansen, Ruhr University Bochum), with the aim of<br aria-hidden=\"true\"\/>enhancing the safety and reliability of AI methods. His research focuses on decision-making under uncertainty \u2013 particularly in the context of visual data.
